Check out our awesome team photos taken by Ashton Leigh Photography here.
We had such an amazing weekend with Ashton and we love how she truly captured the personality of each dancer and of our team as a whole. We couldn't be happier!
Our recital is MONDAY! I can't wait to share everything that we've been working on. It's going to be an amazing show!
Show: Our end of year Spring Review will be on Monday June 6th 2022 at the Logan High School Auditorium. The show begins at 6:30 pm, dancers will need to arrive ready to dance (this means in full costume hair and makeup with their dance shoes) at 6:00 pm.
DRESS REHEARSAL: We will hold a mandatory dress rehearsal that morning from 9:30-11:30 am at the auditorium. We have limited time so please do not be late- plan for dancers to be ready on the stage at 9:15 am.
Dancers will need to wear their costume, recital tights, and pink ballet shoes (juniors have tan jazz shoes and seniors have half soles). This dress rehearsal is closed to an audience unless you have a dancer under the age of 5 that needs assistance. I will have class helpers to stay with your dancers the entire time.
Tights: *If you need new tights, you can get them by visiting The Dance Shop at 521 N Main in Logan. Please don’t send your dancer on the stage with rips or stains on their tights. The Dance Shop is only open Monday-Thursday 1:00-5:30 pm so please plan ahead! Tinys Minis and Juniors will need to ask for footed tights- lighter skin complexions need “light suntan”, medium skin tones need “suntan” and darker skin tones have several varieties to choose from with varying names.
Hair + Makeup: Tiny and Mini dancers can have their hair however they'd like for the performance as long as it's pulled out of their eyes. Makeup is completely optional, but we recommend blush and lipstick to avoid being washed out by the stage lights. (Juniors and Seniors will do competition hair and makeup)
Tickets: The recital fee is due June 1st, it includes 4 recital tickets per family. Additional tickets may be purchased at the door for $10/each. (Dancers do not need a ticket). Tickets will be passed out in class this week for those who have paid.
*RECITAL VIDEO + PHOTOGRAPHY: I’m super excited to announce that I’ve hired an AMAZING photographer/videographer team (Good Samaritan Photography) to record the entire show as well as take photos of every routine. NO personal photo or video will be allowed. You can order the photos and video by sending $15 via Venmo to @nvnatalie, I will also accept cash orders this week leading up to the show (please no cash orders the day of the recital because I’ll be too distracted to keep track.)
Spring classes will end June 3rd- have a happy summer!!
*ALL FEE AND TUITION BALANCES MUST BE PAID IN FULL BY JUNE 1ST IN ORDER TO PARTICIPATE IN THE SPRING REVIEW*
We received our photos back from the Venue Dance Competition! Thanks so much to Bailey Thorne Photography! Here are a few of my favorite shots. I love how each dancer's individuality is captured. That's one of the things that we really try to emphasize at our studio- we're all unique in our abilities and we celebrate that!
The first few photos are from our 2021 soloists, Kaylee, Addy and Gabi. They did such an awesome job! Their showmanship was especially amazing as you can tell by these photos.
There were so many more I didn't even share here. If you'd like to see more comment below- also let us know which shots are your favorite.
Wow! We had an amazing weekend at Juan Diego High School for the Dance America Concert Championship! We were so excited to compete with Dance America because we went to their Summer Slam Dance Camp in St. George last summer and fell in love with their teachers, director and culture. We also loved being back at Juan Diego, we were just there a few weeks ago for the Gotta Move competition and we even got put back in our same dressing room!
All three of our soloists competed early Saturday morning before the team competition and they were stunning as always! They all three danced their very best and it was so cool to see them end their competition season like that! It was also super fun that our team got to be there to cheer them on this time!
Addy competed "You Are The Reason" in the Intermediate Lyrical division and won 2nd place.
Kaylee competed "Shake It Out" in Intermediate Lyrical and won High Gold 1st Place!
Gabi competed "Dynasty" in Intermediate Contemporary and won Gold 2nd Place!
Saturday after the solo awards, we competed as a team. The girls were completely amazing and danced their very best. We were all blown away by their performance!
After we competed we went to lunch at Leatherbys and almost missed awards! We had to leave the parents back at the restaurant and rush over to receive our gorgeous crystal trophy and banners. The parents were great and even brought our ice cream to go.
"Keeping Your Head Up" Intermediate Jazz: FIRST PLACE and High Gold
"Don't Worry About Me" Intermediate Lyrical: FIRST PLACE, High Gold and Best Overall Intermediate Choreography
We had so much fun and loved having this as our final competition this season. We even FINALLY made our first TikTok in our dressing room (check it out on our TikTok or Instagram @dance.studiob).
We love Dance America and we'll definitely be back!
We had a great time at Venue Dance Competition at Northridge High School in Layton. (April 23-24th 2021)
Friday night Kaylee, Gabi and Addy got to compete their solos and they did an amazing job! Kaylee won 2nd place for "Shake it Out" in Intermediate Lyrical, Gabi won 2nd place for "Dynasty" in Intermediate Contemporary and Addy won 1st place for "You Are The Reason" in Intermediate Lyrical. They all danced beautifully.
We got to come back on Saturday for our team competition and these girls proved that they are complete professionals when it comes to quick changes! This competition went so fast because of their block schedule so we didn't have time to do much in between each dance, but we're thankful that it went quickly. After we were done dancing, we met up for a great lunch at Red Robin and then came back for awards in the evening.
We won HIGH GOLD for all three of our routines! We also won a Creativity Judges Choice Award for our team! I couldn't be more proud of these girls and all of the hard work they put in. They handle every obstacle amazingly and dance better and better every single time they get on the stage. 3 competitions down, 1 to go!
Venue had a professional photographer taking pictures of each routine. I'll share those when I get them back. Stay tuned!
Gotta Move Competition at Juan Diego was awesome! We added so many awards to our collection. We loved having a private dressing room (even though we accidentally locked ourselves out once) oops! The girls got to pick their own participation award to take home which was super fun and all of the awards were beautiful! The girls performed their best yet, which has been our goal- to improve each and every week we compete.
Intermediate Contemporary "Dynasty" Gabi Zollinger
Intermediate Lyrical "Don't Worry About Me"
Intermediate Jazz "Keeping Your Head Up"
Ruby, Best Costume and Judges Choice Awards
Intermediate Hip Hop "STEP"
Emerald and Best Costume Awards
We kicked off competition season with a bang! This weekend we competed at Medallion Classic at Herriman High School. We had some super quick changes and so much fun! The competition was put on by Classic Dance Competitions and the event ran so smoothly! Friday night, Gabi competed her solo and got 2nd Attendant in the Intermediate Contemporary Division.
Our team results were:
Intermediate Lyrical "Don't Worry About Me" Gold
Intermediate Jazz "Keeping Your Head Up" Gold
Intermediate Hip Hop "STEP" Gold
We got to bring home our first ever trophy as Studio B Dance Company and it felt amazing! Most importantly, the girls performed beautifully, had so much fun, and got to show what we've been working towards for all of these months.
